Red Doors Farm Cottages are situated in the heart of the Blackdown Hills in Beacon, Devon. The Holiday cottages are also just a short drive from the popular market town of Honiton. Our extensive facilities are set in two acres of beautiful, well kept gardens and include a large heated indoor swimming pool, games rooms and children’s' play areas (both indoors and outdoors). There is so much to keep you entertained here at Red Doors but also there is a wide variety of activities/attractions nearby.
The Farmhouse
A charming and delightful thatched 500 year old Grade II listed Devon long house of stone and cob with original beams, oak panelling and flagstone floor. The property has been renovated to provide superb accommodation for the larger or extended family. Dining hall, bespoke wooden kitchen with feature bread oven and Aga (+electric oven) and breakfast table. Large drawing room with inglenook fireplace. First floor: 4 bedrooms (1 king, 1 double, 2 twin, all Vi Spring mattresses). Shower room with WC. Bathroom with WC, whirlpool bath with power shower over. The accommodation comprises of a large sitting/dining room with a sofa and armchair and a cosy log burner. Raised bespoke kitchen concealed by oak screen made from reclaimed cider vats. Stairs up to bedroom with four poster king sized bed (Vi Spring mattress) and stargazing windows. Sumptuous bathroom with whirlpool bath and large separate shower.Facilities include an indoor and outdoor play area, BBQ hut and sauna.
Visiting Beacon & Exploring Devon
We are 3 miles from the market town of Honiton and Exeter is a 30 minute drive away. East Devon is known as the 'countryside by the sea' and the unspoilt southern coastline with its beaches, pretty fishing villages and smugglers coves is only half an hour away. The area is superb for walking whatever your level of fitness. You can enjoy fine countryside and fabulous views right from our doorstep, follow the coastal path or explore the wilds of Dartmoor and Exmoor.
