Nether Whitlaw Cottage, once a farm worker's home, has been upgraded to provide a comfortable retreat on our extensive upland stock farm. Situated amidst grazing fields for sheep and cattle, the cottage stands alone, over half a mile from the nearest public road, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Accommodation
Furnished to a high standard, the cottage offers accommodation surrounded by breathtaking scenery. The well-equipped dining kitchen features a modern electric cooker, microwave oven, dishwasher and fridge freezer, along with a full range of crockery, cutlery, glasses and cookware. Double doors from the kitchen lead to the front garden.There are three bedrooms:
- A ground floor, double en-suite bedroom.
- A large king-sized bedroom upstairs.
- A large twin room upstairs (with the option of a third single bed upon arrangement).
All beds have pillows and modern non-feather duvets, with bed linen included in the rent. The king-sized and double beds each have king-size duvets and extra blankets are available on request. The ground floor en-suite bedroom includes a double bed, a cupboard with hanging space and a dressing table. The en-suite bathroom features a power shower, WC, wash hand basin, shaver point and heated towel rail. The upstairs twin room has twin beds, a wardrobe, and a chest of drawers. The other upstairs bedroom includes a king-sized bed, a wardrobe and a chest of drawers. Both rooms offer lovely views over the fields to the Cheviot Hills.
The upstairs bathroom features a power shower, WC, wash hand basin, shaver point and heated towel rail.
Guests have exclusive access to a large enclosed garden area and woodland, complete with garden furniture and a small garage. The views from the cottage stretch across the Cheviot Hills and the Border Country, offering unforgettable scenery.
Visiting the Area
Nether Whitlaw Cottage is an ideal base for exploring the Borders, with opportunities for walking, fishing, horse riding, golf, birdwatching, wildlife watching and visiting the four Borders abbeys, stately homes and Roman archaeological sites. Alternatively, guests can simply relax with a good book in front of an open fire. Rates: From £500 to £900 per week depending on season.
