Accommodation
Our holiday home is the perfect place for peace and relaxation whilst enjoying the majesty of the nature which surrounds the property. The Grade II listed stone barn is beautifully furnished but still retains many period features. Drovers Retreat sleeps up to 4 people. All the rooms lead from the spacious living and dining room; these comprise of a kitchen, bathroom and 2 bedrooms - 1 double and 1 twin.The relaxing and cosy living room has a vaulted ceiling, beams and original flagstones. There is also a dining area, Freeview TV, CD player, radio and a selection of games and reading material. The property boasts a fully equipped traditional farm kitchen with butler sink, electric hob and oven, under worktop fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher. The bathroom has a thermostatic shower and a large bath, heated towel rail and Victorian style wash basin and WC. There is an electric shaving point and a hair dryer.
The property benefits from having a large all weather games barn with table football, snooker/pool table and darts board. There is a fenced area of woodland on the farm where guests are welcome to walk, and is ideal for children and dogs to run freely.
Drovers Retreat backs onto a wooded valley with a stream, it is a perfect place to escape the stresses of the modern world without compromising on comforts, ensuring a truly memorable stay. Outside there are BBQ facilities and outside furniture.
Local Area
Walking is a very popular activity, with many possibilities for stunning walks from the doorstep of Drovers Retreat or slightly further away. The amazing Elan Valley Reservoirs and Dams are a short drive away in the hills above Rhayader, offering stunning walks or cycle rides. The Offa's Dyke Path and Visitors Centre are at the nearby market town of Knighton. Culturally, there is a wealth of music and the arts available near Drovers Retreat. The Wyeside Arts Centre at Builth Wells (13 miles) have films plays and a range of art activities. For six days around the August Bank Holiday, the Presteigne Festival of Music and the Arts, has been held annually for 30 years.
