Torranbuie Farmhouse

Strathdon, Torranbuie, Aberdeenshire

Sleeps 1-6

Summary

Torranbuie offers self catering accommodation in a stone farmhouse built in the early 1800s, set within the Cairngorm National Park. Having undergone many renovations it provides comfortable family accommodation with an acre of garden and woodland ground to spread out in. Strathdon, famed for its Lonach Highland Gathering, offers visitors an idyllic unspoilt holiday location with good local amenities and spectacular scenery. The house sleeps 6 in three bedrooms that overlook the garden and mature forrest plantation.

Accommodation

Torranbuie has been completely rebuilt internally and provides a luxurious base for your holiday. The Kitchen is fitted with an Oil-fired AGA cooker, condensing clothes drier and dishwasher. The family bathroom is off the lower hallway and has a shower, bath, twin handbasins, WC and washing machine.

Adjacent to the bathroom is a twin-bedded room, great for kids or anyone who has difficulty with stairs. The sitting room is off the kitchen and has Satellite TV and a DVD player. The front garden is accessed from the kitchen through a pair of double-glazed insulating doors.

The back door is at the end of the lower hallway and leads to a large Glasshouse, handy for boots and washing the dogs feet. The stairs lead to the first floor on which are two large bedrooms and a bathroom. A gate can be fitted at the top of the stairs for the safety of small children. Both bedrooms look out over the garden and forests beyond. In common with most old farmhouses, they face east to get the benefit of the rising sun.
