Curlew Cottage offers self catering accommodation in Windmill. The is an adult only retreat near Great Hucklow. The Derbyshire cottage an ideal base from which to explore the Peak District National Park.
Curlew Cottage has been tastefully decorated and furnished throughout while still retaining many of its original featured.
On the ground floor is a spacious lounge with a beamed ceiling, cosy lighting and beautiful stone fireplace that has a log burning stove. A dining area has an oak dining table and the sitting area comes with a comfortable suite, flat screen TV, DVD and CD/radio player. Off the lounge there is a superbly fitted kitchen with exposed beams, high quality kitchen units, fitted hob and oven, microwave, fridge and an automatic washing machine.
The luxurious double bedroom is upstairs and has warm lighting, a TV and an original French cast iron bed. Next door there is an elegant bathroom with exposed beams, an original French cast iron bath, WC and a separate shower.
Outside there is a gravelled patio area with outdoor furniture. Ideal for a spot of al fresco dining.
Windmill is just two miles from the historic village of Tideswell. The area has a beautiful church known as 'The Cathedral of the Peak'. It is also close to Hope Valley which includes Castleton (just 4 miles away). This is famous for its castle and limestone caverns. The cottage is popular with walkers as we are nestled in a beautiful part of the Peak District, with many walks starting right from the front door. We are also within walking distance of two local pubs which serve food and local ales. Many places to explore are nearby:
