The Blue Door offers self catering accommodation in the coastal village of Ravenglass. Our Cumbrian cottage is only a short walk to the shop, pubs/cafes and BR railway station.
Our delightful cottage sleeps up to 3 people and is tastefully furnished and centrally heated throughout. There is a single car parking space immediately outside for guests’ use.
A spacious panelled lounge is a great place to relax after a day exploring the area. Facilities include a flame-effect fire, TV, DVD player and CD player. A well-equipped kitchen includes a double electric oven, gas hob, fridge, small freezer, microwave and washing machine. You can savour some home-cooking in the rear dining/sitting room which boasts glorious sea views.
Two comfortable bedrooms are available. One bedroom comes with a bateau style double bed and a second bedroom has a single bed and sea view. Both rooms share a bathroom with a shower unit, bath, WC and panoramic sea view.
Outside there is a small enclosed front garden with a seat, a great spot for a morning coffee whilst enjoying the view of the quaint village street. A rear balcony deck, with bistro table and chairs, is set directly above the shore, offering breathtaking sea views.
The local area is a haven for nature lovers, with lots of gorgeous scenery to enjoy. Beautiful mountain, woodland, riverside and beach walks are available from the front door. Take a scenic ride on the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway or visit Muncaster Castle, a historic castle and gardens with a hawk and owl center. See ancient ruins at the Ravenglass Roman Bath House or hike around Harter Fell and admire the valley views. Further attractions to see include:
