Tigh Na Cathair offers charming self catering accommodation in the beautiful parish of Assynt. Based near Stoer in a stunning location, we are close to some of Scotland’s most gorgeous beaches and scenic hill walks. Further afield you can visit an array of attractions in Sutherland.

Our delightful cottage is nestled in an amazing setting, offering the chance to discover some of Europe’s true wilderness areas. Outside there is a lovely private garden, great for relaxing with a coffee whilst savouring the view.

The tastefully furnished cottage comes with a cosy living with comfy seating and a TV. Rustle up some delicious food in the well-equipped kitchen which has a range of appliances: electric cooker, fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer. Beds consist of 1 double, 1 single and 1 camp bed. All bedding, sheets, pillow cases and towels are included. A bathroom comes with a walk-in shower.

We are in a fantastic location for exploring natural scenery in the area. You can enjoy a leisurely walk to the point of Dhunan and follow the coast round to the Old Man of Stoer. From Lochinver you can visit the Waterfalls of Inverkirkaig or climb the iconic mountain of Suilven. Lochinver has a Spar shop and an excellent butcher, whilst Peet's Restaurant at the harbour serves amazing food. Slightly further afield is the Kylesku Hotel which has a very good reputation.

Popular attractions to visit include the beaches at Clashnessie, Clachtoll, Achmelvich and further afield, Sandwood Bay, as well as Stoer Lighthouse and Falls of Shin
