Obinan Croft, which sleeps six, is a delightful and well-equipped self-catering cottage located on an unspoiled West Coast headland, surrounded by a wild coastline and lovely beaches. Situated just four miles from the village of Laide in Wester Ross, the cottage is just over a mile from the stunning beach at Mellon Udrigle, accessible via a very quiet road.

The interior of the cottage is bright and sunny, offering a wonderful outlook in all directions. From the kitchen table, guests can watch the sun rise over An Teallach, while the sitting room provides beautiful sea views stretching out to the Summer Isles. The cottage combines the charm of a traditional croft house with the comfort of a modern build. It features excellent insulation, a stone floor and a wood-burning stove for cosy evenings. The house sleeps up to six people and includes reliable broadband. Set within about an acre of fully enclosed grounds with a gated entrance, it offers privacy and peace of mind.

The spacious, well-equipped dining kitchen opens into a charming small sitting room that is filled with light and character. This inviting space is enhanced by the warmth of the wood-burning stove, wood is provided, though you may wish to lower the central heating if you’re planning to use it. Also on the ground floor is a utility room with effective drying facilities, a comfortable double bedroom and a bathroom.

Upstairs, the cottage has a second double bedroom, a twin room and a shower room.

The surrounding area offers fantastic walks through rugged coastline, hills and moorland. The quiet single-track road is perfect for children cycling to Mellon Udrigle beach, which is ideal for water activities like sailing and kayaking.

Obinan Croft serves as a great base for exploring the West Highlands, with nearby access to the mountains of An Teallach, Slioch, the Letterewe and Fisherfield ranges and the Fannaichs. The area teems with wildlife, pine martens, otters and seals are commonly seen, along with porpoises and the occasional whale.
