Accommodation


The cottage features a spacious open-plan sitting and dining area alongside a well-equipped kitchen, ideal for cosy evenings by the log fire with a book from the library, board games, or a film on the DVD player. The ground floor includes a twin bedroom with an accessible wet room equipped with a shower seat and grab rails. Entry to the cottage involves one small step. Upstairs, there is a master bedroom with a king-size bed and a luxurious bathroom that includes both a bath and a shower. All towels and hypoallergenic bedding are provided and both bedrooms boast picturesque views of the surrounding countryside.

The extensive garden shared with the owners features ample seating to enjoy the local wildlife, including frequent visits by red squirrels. The garden is flanked by the River Isla and Kilry Burn, providing a soothing natural soundtrack. Secure storage is available for bicycles and guests can enjoy a barbecue to cap off a day of exploration.

The Area & Activities


Situated at the base of Glen Isla, the cottage offers access to a range of outdoor activities. Guests can explore the Angus Glens, ski at Glenshee, fish in the local lochs and rivers, cycle, horse ride, or enjoy bird-watching at nearby nature reserves. Wildlife enthusiasts may spot hares and deer, while golfers will find courses within a short drive.

For those keen on walking, the spectacular Reekie Linn Waterfalls are just a two-mile hike away, and the more adventurous might tackle parts of the Cateran Trail, rich with historical intrigue from Scotland’s past. Cultural visits can include James Barrie’s birthplace in Kirriemuir, the historic Glamis and Scone palaces and the Pictish stones in Meigle, with the history of Scotland's early tribes detailed at the Pictavia Visitor Centre in Brechin.
