No 2 Bowmont Cottage is a comfortable and cosy retreat set on a lively livestock farm in the picturesque Bowmont Valley. Situated on the edge of the Northumberland National Park and within the designated Dark Sky area, it is the perfect base for families, friends, hikers, and bikers looking to explore North Northumberland. With beautiful walks right from the doorstep, guests can enjoy the stunning surroundings of this family-run farm.

Inside, the cottage features a welcoming living space with a large log burner, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The two bedrooms include one with a king-size bed and another with a double. A spacious boot room provides ample storage for wellies, outdoor gear, and muddy dogs, making it ideal for those embracing the great outdoors. The private garden with a patio offers a peaceful space to relax, though it is not enclosed. Guests are provided with a basket of logs, kindling, and firelighters, with additional logs available on request for £4 per basket.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome, but guests must notify us in advance. As the cottage is located on a working farm with cows, sheep, horses, friendly dogs, and the occasional chicken, visiting dogs must be kept under control. They are not permitted on furniture or in the bedrooms and must never be left alone in the house. There is an additional charge of £20 per dog, with a maximum of two dogs allowed.

Our location is ideal, just a five-minute walk from the Scottish border and close to Northumberland National Park. The nearby town of Wooler offers a great selection of pubs, wine bars, cafés and takeaways, along with a butcher, baker, deli and chocolate shop showcasing local produce. Walkers and cyclists can explore the many scenic routes and trails in The Cheviot Hills, with highlights including the Breamish Valley Hillfort Trail, Hetha’s Hike, and Three Forts Foray.
