Lochan Lodge

Summary

Located in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, Lochan Lodge offers an intimate setting with breathtaking panoramic views of the unspoiled natural countryside. The lodge is close to many visitor attractions and amenities, providing a perfect base for exploration. It offers spacious and comfortable accommodation for up to 6 adults and 2 children in four king-sized bedrooms.

Accommodation

The lodge features a well-equipped open-plan kitchen with an adjoining second kitchen, a dining area and a spacious lounge, along with an additional lounge on the first floor. The kitchen is equipped with an electric and gas hob, two electric ovens, a microwave, two dishwashers, a bean-to-cup coffee machine, and both a fridge/freezer and an additional fridge in the prep kitchen.

There are three double bedrooms with king beds, two of which have ensuite bathrooms or shower rooms. The fourth bedroom has a king "zip 'n link" bed that can be converted into two single beds, offering flexibility for guests.

The open-plan living area includes a log burner for cosy evenings and the second kitchen is fully equipped for all your culinary needs. A utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer is also available. On the first floor, the second lounge offers fantastic views of the surrounding countryside.

Guests can also enjoy the eco-friendly Larch hot tub, which is self-stoked with logs (note: it may be unavailable during droughts due to the private water supply). Outside there is also a patio with garden furniture and a BBQ.

The lodge's well-maintained garden leads down to the Lochan, where trout fishing is available in season (March 31 to September 30), with a small additional charge for fish retained. Salmon fishing and game shooting or deer stalking can be arranged nearby, and two 'sit-on' kayaks are available for hire at a reasonable cost. Wild water swimming is also possible in the loch.

The lodge has ample parking for at least four cars and provides two outdoor dog kennels and runs for well-behaved outdoor dogs.

Additional features include electric vehicle charging points (Tesla and Type 2), linen and towels, a starter welcome pack with essentials, central heating, and a log burner with provided logs.

Entertainment options include a TV with Sky Digital, a Blu-ray DVD player with a selection of DVDs, a quality HiFi system with a collection of 300 CDs, and an Xbox 360 with several popular games in the upstairs lounge. The lodge also offers WiFi (approximately 30 Mbps download speed), a variety of books and games, and a cot and high chair upon request. There is good mobile phone coverage for most networks (O2, EE, 3 and Vodafone).
