Accommodation
Our superb holiday home sleeps up to 4 people and offers modern and comfortable accommodation throughout. The traditional detached stone built fisherman's cottage has been tastefully renovated but still retains its original character. The fully equipped cottage offers a range of superb appliances: Zanussi ceramic hob electric cooker, microwave, fridge freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board. There is also an elegant dining area to wine and dine on.The cosy and relaxing lounge includes comfy sofas and a Freeview Smart TV and DVD player, perfect for relaxing and unwinding in after a busy day exploring the local area. On the ground floor is also a recently refurbished shower room with modern walk-in shower. On the first floor is a double bedroom and twin bedroom.
A high chair and travel cot are available on request and bed linen and towels are also provided
Local Area
Portknockie lies within 60 miles of Aberdeen and Inverness Airports. The use of a car is recommended. The town of Buckie lies 5 miles to the West. Here you will find larger supermarkets and other amenities. The larger town of Elgin is 33 miles to the West. To the East is Cullen (2 miles), Portsoy (12 miles) and Banff (22 miles). The Moray Firth is known for its moderate climate. Walkers on the splendid coastal paths can see various wild life, including seals on the rocks at Buckie and with a bit of luck you may be treated to the spectacle of a passing school of dolphins. The long sandy beach at Cullen is within walking distance. The 18 hole golf course in Cullen is open to visitors.Portknockie is a good base for visiting local places of interest, including Duff House (Banff), Dufftown Distillery (Home of Glenfiddich and part of the famous Malt Whisky Trail), Baxters Visitor Centre (Fochabers) - famous for warm freshly made pancakes. We have provided much more information, including Ordnance Survey maps, in the cottage.
