Corran Cottages offers outstanding self catering accommodation in the charming village of Shieldaig. We are based in a scenic setting on the seafront and are surrounded by the Torridon Mountains and Loch Shieldaig. We are 70 miles west of Inverness and perfect for an idyllic break in a lovely part of Ross-shire.
The Cottage
This traditional cottage was built in the 1850s but has been tastefully modernised to suit all your needs and is heated by oil fired central heating. The property sleeps up to 5 people in 3 bedrooms, one of which is an en suite shower room. The family bathroom comes with a claw foot bath and there is a separate shower room. You can unwind in the cosy sitting room, which has a multi-fuel stove and a smart satellite TV, and which leads to the garden room with French doors opening onto the delightful garden. A well-equipped kitchen includes a range of appliances: electric ceramic hob, multifunction oven, microwave oven, large fridge freezer and dishwasher. There is also a utility room with washing machine, tumble drier and pulley drier.The Cottage has lovely enclosed terraced gardens to the rear. The area nearest the property is paved and has a picnic table, perfect for a coffee in the morning sun. There is a walled front garden across the road from The Cottage adjacent to the stony beach. This garden is also used by guests staying in Pier House and has 2 picnic tables.
Pier House
Our beautiful newly built house sleeps 6 people in 3 bedrooms, all of which have en suite shower rooms. There is a separate family bathroom as well. One of the bedrooms is on the ground floor and the en suite wet room is suitable for people with limited mobility. A cosy main sitting room is on the first floor and boasts stunning views across Loch Shieldaig and includes a multi-fuel stove and smart satellite TV. A smaller sitting room downstairs has French doors which open onto the garden. The well-equipped kitchen/dining room with an electric ceramic hob and double oven, microwave oven, dishwasher and large fridge/freezer. There is also a utility room with washing machine, tumble drier and pulley drier.Outside there is an enclosed garden that offers breathtaking views over Ben Shieldaig and the top end of Loch Shieldaig. A patio area comes with a picnic table for al fresco dining in the summer months. The property also benefits from use of the walled front garden across the road from The Cottage adjacent to the stony beach.
Visiting Shieldaig & Exploring Ross-shire
The village of Shieldaig is nestled on the shore of Loch Shieldaig, offering glorious scenery in every direction. You can enjoy beautiful walks around the Torridon Mountains or take a wonderful boat trip from Shieldaig on a yacht.
