Rectory Lodge is a traditional cottage sleeping up to eight guests, set within the grounds of Rectory Lodge Fishery and just a ten-minute drive from Cookstown. It’s an ideal base for a fishing holiday, a sightseeing break, or a get-together with friends and family in the area.
The cottage offers a flexible layout, with one double room and one twin room on the ground floor and a further double and twin room upstairs. A wheelchair-accessible wet room is located on the ground floor, with an additional bathroom on the first floor. The kitchen and living area features a large hearth with an open fire and is fully equipped with essential cooking and dining facilities, making it well suited to individuals, families, groups and business travellers.
The property includes a TV, CD/radio, microwave, fridge/freezer, central heating and underfloor heating on the ground floor. Guests can also enjoy the fireplace with logs provided, along with practical touches such as an iron and ironing board, electric hairdryer, ready-made beds and a supply of towels. A highchair is available on request, parking is provided at the premises and there is a BBQ with charcoal for outdoor use and a hot tub. All doors meet Tourist Board standards for wheelchair accessibility.
Whether you’re an experienced angler or a complete beginner, including children and families, we aim to provide a memorable experience — helping you develop your fishing skills or simply enjoy a peaceful and relaxing escape. We offer fly fishing, bait fishing and fishing lessons to suit all abilities.
Cookstown and the surrounding area offer a great mix of history, nature and heritage to explore. You can visit the ancient Beaghmore Stone Circles, a fascinating Bronze Age site just outside town, or explore the historic Lissan House with its woodland walks and centuries-old architecture. For outdoor enthusiasts, Drum Manor Forest Park provides scenic forest trails and a peaceful setting, while Tullyhogue Fort offers a glimpse into the ceremonial past of the chiefs of Tyrone. Nearby, the Wellbrook Beetling Mill showcases traditional linen-making history and the impressive Killymoon Castle sits on the edge of Cookstown overlooking the Ballinderry River. All of these attractions make the area a rewarding place to visit for both heritage and outdoor experiences.
