Inside, the cleverly designed seating and table transform into a cosy double bed, praised by guests as the most comfortable they've ever slept in. Fully insulated and double-glazed, the hut stays warm year-round with the help of a log-burning stove. A small but well-equipped kitchenette includes a two-ring hob, sink, and fridge, while a private bathroom features a proper loo, hand basin and modern shower.
Set within two acres of secluded land, the Shepherd’s Hut shares its space with the vineyard shed, home to a tractor and winemaking equipment, though most of the activity here comes from the abundant wildlife. Teasel Meadow, just east of the hut, provides a peaceful spot with a table and chairs, perfect for watching the sunset over the Somerset Levels. Buzzards, sparrowhawks, woodpeckers, goldfinches and even the occasional cuckoo or weasel can often be spotted.
Located between Wells and Glastonbury, both rich in history and folklore, Mowbarton is just two miles from the picturesque village of Wedmore and a short walk from the famous Roger Wilkins Cider Barn.
