Mill Cottage offers outstanding self catering accommodation in Modbury. Our property near Ivybridge is nestled on a private 18th Century Colmer Estate, surrounded by 28 acres of stunning meadows, sweeping lawns, woodlands, a fishing lake, streams and landscaped gardens. We are in the perfect position for discovering the gorgeous south Devon beaches and a range of attractions in the area.

Accommodation

Our wonderful cottage has been tastefully converted from an old timber mill, with the original waterwheel still attached to the back of the cottage. The property is well-equipped with an array of superb facilities and is perfect for a memorable country retreat.

This fantastic stone cottage comes with a cosy seating area with sofas, a TV and a dining table. Enjoy some home-cooking in the fully equipped kitchen which has an electric oven and hob, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, dishwasher, a washing machine, toaster and kettle. Additional washing and drying facilities can be found in a separate laundry room in the pool area.

On the first floor is a delightful king room that boasts glorious views over the woodlands. A bunk room and large bathroom are also available. The second floor houses a further single room and a large family bathroom.

Outside there is a lovely walled garden with a table and seating for al fresco dining over a few glasses of wine. You also have use of our amazing facilities which include a heated indoor swimming pool, outdoor pool (open high season), tennis court, gym/fitness room, games with table football and table tennis table.

Visiting Modbury & Exploring Devon

This area of Devon has an abundance of brilliant attractions to enjoy, including scenic countryside, wooded valleys and quaint villages. Hikers will love exploring rugged Dartmoor, whilst Dartmouth and Plymouth are easily accessible by car. Only a 5 minute walk away is the California Inn and a short drive will take you to Blackdown Rings, home to a majestic Iron Age hill fort with a Norman motte and bailey castle. Great attractions to visit include:

Bigbury Beach.
Wistman’s Woods.
Otter sanctuary and butterfly farm.
Greenways on the Dart.
Pennywell Farm.
