Tyn Y Fron is a charming and immaculately kept country house and cottage set within approximately an acre of beautifully landscaped gardens on the edge of Betws-y-Coed, one of the main villages within Snowdonia National Park. Elevated above the village, the property enjoys breathtaking views across the Conwy Valley and surrounding countryside. Originally built in 1867, the detached stone house and accompanying cottage, both with traditional slate roofs, have been thoughtfully restored to a high standard while preserving their classic country house character. The main house offers six bedrooms accommodating up to twelve guests, while the separate two-bedroom cottage sleeps four, making it ideal for larger groups or extended families. Set in a peaceful and sunny position, the property remains conveniently close to the village centre, reached by a scenic footpath that crosses a historic suspension bridge over the Afon Conwy. It offers a calm and relaxing retreat, ideal for unwinding after a day of exploring the area.
The Country House is a beautifully presented Victorian property designed for comfort and relaxation, featuring six individually styled bedrooms, five of which have en-suite facilities. With a well-equipped kitchen and a spacious lounge offering stunning sunset views across the valley, it provides an ideal setting for families and groups of friends seeking a peaceful countryside escape. The house accommodates up to twelve guests across four super-king rooms, one king room and one double room, with the flexibility to convert one of the rooms into a twin.
Located beside the country house, this cottage offers a peaceful retreat. Originally built in the mid-1860s as a coach house with stables on the ground floor and an artist’s studio above, the property retains its historic character, with the upstairs living space designed to make the most of natural light and scenic views. Fully refurbished, it now provides a comfortable and welcoming base for both active adventures and relaxing breaks. The ground floor features two bedrooms, a double and a twin, sleeping up to four guests, with space for an infant in a cot if required. Upstairs, you’ll find a spacious lounge, a bathroom with an electric shower over the bath and a fully equipped kitchen that includes a dishwasher and washer/dryer.
Just a seven-minute walk along a public footpath, crossing the suspension bridge, takes you into the heart of the village where you’ll find a range of interesting shops and excellent restaurants. The cottage also benefits from a private car park with two spaces available for guests.
Betws-y-Coed, often known as the gateway to Snowdonia National Park, is surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in North Wales. Just outside the village, Swallow Falls is one of the area’s most famous natural attractions, with cascading waterfalls set among woodland. Nearby, the enchanting Fairy Glen offers a quieter spot with dramatic rock formations and the winding River Conwy. For those seeking adventure, Zip World Fforest provides thrilling zip lines, treetop adventures and forest activities. Scenic walks can be enjoyed along the Afon Llugwy and through Gwydir Forest, while further afield, the mountains and lakes of Snowdonia provide endless opportunities for hiking, cycling and exploring.
