Summary

Overhailes Farm Cottages are a collection of self catering holiday homes, situated just outside the market town of Haddington. Overhailes is the perfect base from which to explore all that East Lothian and Edinburgh have to offer.

We have a range of cottages to choose from, sleeping 2 – 8 people. All the cottages are beautifully furnished and come with everything you need for relaxing break in the country, including cosy living areas with a TV, well-equipped kitchen for home-cooking, modern bathrooms and bedrooms.

The Cart Shed (Sleeps 4-6)

This cottage includes a family bathroom, large living room and well-appointed kitchen on the ground floor. The first floor has two en suite bedrooms, whilst the lounge has a sofa bed.

The Smiddy (Sleeps 4-6)

The cottage is similar to The Cart Shed and includes a full bathroom, large lounge with a sofabed and a kitchen with a breakfast bar and table for 4 on the ground floor. 2 en suite bedrooms are upstairs: a twin and a king.

The Stables (Sleeps 6)

This cosy open plan cottage has a patio door that offers views over the fields. Inside there is a kitchen/lounge/dining area. Three bedrooms have private bathrooms, including 2 twins and 1 super king.

The Bothy (Sleeps 4)

Our two bedroom ground level cottage is ideal for people with limited mobility. Bedrooms consist of 1 king en suite and 1 twin en suite. Unwind in the cosy open plan kitchen//living area a day sightseeing. A large patio is ideal for a coffee in the morning sun.

The Granary (Sleeps 6-8)

Our biggest cottage has a spacious kitchen with a dining table for 8 people. Two bedrooms share a family bathroom, whilst a double en suite is also available. Upstairs the is a lovely living with a sofabed and bathroom. Outside there is a private patio for al fresco dining.

Castle View Cottage (Sleeps 2)

This cottage is south facing and includes an upstairs twin room and a bathroom. The room offers stunning views of the castle ruins. Downstairs there is a kitchen and a living room with a toasty wood burner for the winter months.

Visiting Haddington & Exploring East Lothian

For those that prefer to 'do' rather than 'see' there is plenty to keep you occupied in close proximity to Overhailes. Traprain Law is a short walk from the farm and there are many beautiful walks in the area. Fishing enthusiasts can try their luck at nearby Markle Fisheries where they can practically guarantee trout of all sizes! The deep pool in front of the castle is also a popular spot for fishing on the Tyne.

There are numerous beaches in East Lothian (Tyninghame, Yellowcraig and John Muir Country Park are amongst the best). East Lothian is famous for its many challenging golf courses if you are looking to 'ruin a good walk' Whitekirk Golf and Country Club, Luffness, Muirfield, Gullane, The Glen, Haddington and Dunbar are all within easy reach.
