Customer Reviews
’’We were a party of 8, 6 adults, 2 teenagers, and a 6 month old baby, 3 generations of my family. The house is very spacious, and has a real homely feel. It was perfect for my family, we need somewhere for us all to be together over Christmas. The kitchen was well equipped, I enjoyed cooking Christmas dinner on the aga. There was more than enough room in the dining room for all of us including the highchair for the baby. The bedrooms were also a good size, with ensuite bathrooms. Toiletries were a nice touch. The Pub in the village supplied us a take-away meal on our last night, nothing was too much trouble for them. I recommend it. The Jurassic coast is a short drive. Although the weather was awful, it rained every day. We still had a wonderful Christmas at the farmhouse. I would recommend the farmhouse I would like to thank Nicola for making our stay very enjoyable.’’ Andrew Cheryl and Terry Gloucestershire Christmas 2019.*So much space inside and out*
‘’I chose this house as my family were coming over from Australia. There were 8 of us that stayed here for a week. From the photos it looked like a house just right for all of us.I can honestly say it’s a very beautiful house with so much space inside and out.The living room was big enough for us all to relax in the evenings and the bedrooms were big and spacious. This lovely home was not only beautiful but it has a lift for people to get upstairs if needed. My Mum is 81 so it was perfect for her to be able to have access to upstairs. We played board games in the dining room and enjoyed cooking in the kitchen with a fabulous aga and a dishwasher to clean away the dishes.I cannot express enough how perfect this place is for a big family in the quietness of the countryside with The Royal Oak pub only a few minutes walk away.A lovely Sunday roast with a Sports Bar to watch the football. We all loved our stay here and would love to come back again one day’’. Rachel, August 2019.
*Amazing farmhouse*
‘’We have just returned from a week’s holiday at this amazing farmhouse. We absolutely loved all the original features and in particular the aga in the kitchen. It was great always knowing that the kitchen was so cosy and warm . I also really enjoyed the benefits of the aga for cooking. The farmhouse was spotlessly clean and very comfortable throughout. Another bonus to this property is the extensive secure garden - it’s great for children and dogs. We also enjoyed making use of the bbq and outdoor table as well as the very comfortable recliner garden chairs. Gould’s Farmhouse is in a lovely little village with great walks for dogs from the doorstep. It’s a great location too for getting out and about and exploring the beautiful Dorset countryside and coastline. The staff in the local pub are very friendly and the food was nice. I would recommend staying in this lovely farmhouse. Nicola, the owner is most helpful and very welcoming. Arrival and departure is made very easy with the use of a key safe and very comprehensive instructions and directions from Nicola. We had a very enjoyable stay and we were very happy with our choice of holiday home for our week in Dorset’’. Helen, June 2019.
*This gem of a house set on the edge of a lovely village*
‘’Three generations of our family enjoyed a wonderful time in this gem of a house set on the edge of a lovely village and surrounded by fields. A large garden and a spacious interior meant that our two small grandchildren didn’t run out of hiding places during our four night stay. A five minute walk takes you to the centre of the village where there is a General store, Post Office and the Royal Oak pub which serves great food, both to eat in or takeaway, and where the staff and locals are all friendly and welcoming. We loved chilling in the evening in front of the open hearth fire with a glass of wine, and being over the New Year period, the Christmas tree, mistletoe and holly decorations were an unexpected but joyful bonus. It goes without saying that we will be visiting again in the future’’. The Osbornes, 7 January 2019.
*Brilliant house for all the family*
‘’We have just returned from a weeks stay at the farmhouse and I thoroughly enjoyed it. With two children under 3 and the in-laws, we found that there was more than enough room - in fact my eldest loved to play hide and seek both inside and out! It is perfectly situated for short drives to all the typical tourist attractions and if we were to return to the area for another holiday I would certainly look to stay at the farmhouse again!’’ Rachel L, May 19, 2016.
*Lovely period Farmhouse, full of character*
‘’The Farmhouse is full of character and original features. We are a family of 8 over 3 generations aged 10 months - 57 years, plus 2 small dogs and the property met all of our needs. Nicola the owner made sure that we had everything we needed and was very approachable with regular contact before our visit. The fact that all 3 bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms is a real bonus. The house was clean and fully equipped. What really makes this property superb, is it's fantastic garden. My only regret was that the English weather was not kind during our stay so we were not able to enjoy it to the full. We will have to return again and pray for sunshine. The pub and village shop are both within walking distance as is the small park. The pub serves great food at very reasonable prices and the staff there were very helpful.
The beaches along the Jurassic coast line are beautiful and within easy reach by car. Weymouth and Poole are also less than 30 mins drive away. I would certainly recommend this property and we do plan to return ourselves. Thank you Nicola for making our stay so enjoyable’’. Paw, Kent. Aug 19, 2015
*My Mam's 90th birthday*
‘’I hired the farmhouse for the weekend of my Mam's 90th birthday (what can you buy someone who is 90?!). She said it was one of the best birthday's ever and that was not just down to the family being with her. The farmhouse is beautiful. We spent a lot of time in the Sun Room and also the garden which was looking amazing. The property is extremely comfortable and very well appointed. Nicola goes out of her way to be helpful and make sure that visitors have everything they need. The surrounding area is lovely and there is a pub just across the road which does an excellent Sunday lunch. I would honestly recommend this to anyone. Fabulous.’’ Audrie, Wiltshire. April 17, 2015.
