Cheristow Farm Cottages are situated in the coastal countryside of North Devon’s Hartland Peninsula, a UNESCO-designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Just 1.5 miles from one of the most dramatic sections of the South West Coast Path and close to Cornwall, our location is less than a 2.5-hour drive from Bristol.
Our cottages, rich in character, have been thoughtfully converted from historic stone farm buildings dating back to at least the 18th century. Set quietly along a peaceful country lane, they offer the perfect retreat, whether you're looking to explore the dramatic coastal cliffs along the South West Coast Path, unwind and escape the hustle and bustle of daily life, or visit the many nearby attractions. However you choose to spend your holiday, you can always indulge in a relaxing hour at the on-site sauna and spa.
This is our largest cottage and features a king-sized double bedroom and a second bedroom with three single beds (plus an optional truckle bed). Spread over two floors, it boasts beamed ceilings, a well-equipped kitchen, a separate dining room and a sitting room with an inglenook fireplace and wood-burning stove. French doors lead to a small enclosed garden with a built-in barbecue, direct access to the shared picnic/play area and stunning sea views across the fields.
This is a single-storey cottage for four, featuring a king-sized double room and a twin room (convertible to a double). It includes a well-equipped kitchen/dining area and a sitting room with a wood burner. French doors open to a small enclosed garden with a built-in barbecue, direct access to the shared picnic/play area and beautiful views of farmland, St Nectan’s church tower and the sea.
The Tack Room is a compact studio cottage with a double bed, a kitchen area and a shower room. With a dining table but no separate sitting room, it's ideal for those who plan to be out exploring.
The Stables features a double bedroom (with space for a cot), a twin room, and a shower room. Its cozy open-plan kitchen/living area includes a wood-burning stove. Outside, a small enclosed seating and barbecue area sits on the former farmyard.
The Linhay features a double bedroom (with space for a cot) and a twin room that can be converted into a double. The bathroom includes a shower over the bath. Its cozy open-plan kitchen/living area has a wood-burning stove, and outside, a sheltered seating area sits on part of the former farmyard.
The Dairy, once the farm’s dairy, is now a bright, cozy retreat for couples. Attached to the main farmhouse yet separate from other cottages, it features an upstairs king-sized bedroom (with space for a cot). Downstairs, there’s a small kitchen, shower room, and a living room with French doors leading to a terrace with sea views. Sorry, no dogs in The Dairy.
The Orchard is a modern detached conversion with a bright upstairs open-plan living area, wood-burning stove and stunning countryside-to-sea views. Downstairs, it offers three double bedrooms, one with an en-suite and garden access, while the others share a shower room. Outside, a sheltered patio in the newly planted garden is perfect for outdoor dining.
The Spa room with its hot tub and sauna is available at Christmas/ New Year and from Easter to October half term.
