Powys Country House & Cottages are located in Corwen on the western edge of the Dee Valley, The main house offers a charming blend of modern comforts and traditional styling across eight guest bedrooms. In addition, we provide two self-catered cottages, perfect for a flexible and cosy stay.

We can accommodate up to 22 guests, with additional beds and cots available. The Country House comfortably sleeps 15, with 7 high-quality extra beds available, while the cottages provide space for 6 guests with the option for extra beds. This makes it an ideal venue for a weekend of celebrations.

Powys Country House

The accommodation has been fully refurbished, blending modern amenities with the charm and character of its 1700s origins. The main house offers eight individually decorated bedrooms, all with en-suite facilities, six with showers, one with a bath and shower and one with a WC. Each room features a Freesat smart TV and is finished to a high standard. The house comfortably sleeps 15, with options for 7 extra beds and 3 cots.

The kitchen is fully equipped for large groups, featuring an American-style fridge freezer, integrated dishwasher, a large Rangemaster double oven, microwave and ample crockery and cookware. For younger guests, highchairs, plastic dining sets, a blender and stair gates are provided. Meals can be enjoyed in the breakfast room for 14 or the formal dining room, which also doubles as a conference space.

Guests can relax in two lounge rooms with smart TVs and garden views, a games room with a pool table, TV, and dartboard, or step outside through the kitchen’s patio doors to a large enclosed garden. Outdoor features include several lawned areas with seating, a giant chess and draughts board, a barbecue and a private hot tub for main house guests (or all guests if the venue is fully booked). A lawn tennis court is available from April to September, except during weddings and an enclosed paddock is perfect for exercising dogs or a friendly football match.

Cowshed Cottage

Cowshed Cottage, recently renovated to a high standard, offers comfortable accommodation for up to four guests, with options for additional sleeping space on a sofa bed, pull-out trundle beds and cots. Both superking bedrooms, which can be split into twins, feature en-suite shower rooms, Freeview TVs with Amazon Prime and Netflix and USB charging points. The open-plan living and dining area complements a well-equipped kitchen with modern appliances, including a fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, oven and microwave, making it perfect for families. A ground-floor wet room with a shower and toilet adds extra convenience.

Stable Cottage

Stable Cottage features a king-size bedroom with en-suite shower facilities and a smart TV equipped with Freesat. It comfortably accommodates two guests, with options for additional sleeping on a sofa bed, pull-out bed, or cots. The well-equipped kitchen includes a fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, oven and microwave, along with ample cookware and dining essentials, making it suitable for families. A convenient ground-floor toilet adds extra practicality.

Conveniently located on the A5, our properties are ideal for exploring the sights of North Wales, with the Llangollen Railway skirting the garden and the edge of Snowdonia National Park just a short drive away. Nearby attractions include Llangollen, Bala, Betws-y-Coed, Chester and the North Wales coastline, alongside stunning lakes, mountains, castles, National Trust properties, Thomas Telford's Aqueduct, canal boats and steam trains. Whether you're seeking a relaxing getaway to enjoy the scenery or an action-packed adventure, there's something for everyone, from canoeing, white-water rafting and climbing to Go Karting, 4x4 off-roading, high ropes, paintballing, fishing, horse riding and thrilling activities like Zip World and Surf Snowdonia.
