Swallow Barn offers self catering accommodation in South Stainmore, located in the Upper Eden Valley. We are close to Kirkby Stephen and within easy reach of walking routes. Further afield you can visit lots of attractions in Cumbria.

Accommodation

Our former barn has been tastefully converted to offer relaxing and comfortable accommodation. The spacious barn sleeps up to 4 people and has been finished to a high standard.

Our spacious, light and airy sitting room/dining area comes with an electric fire, Freesat HD TV, DVD player and comfortable seating. A well-equipped kitchen comes with a range of appliances for cooking up a storm: an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster.

On the first floor, there are two bedrooms: a king and twin room. Both rooms share a bathroom with a bath, WC and wash hand basin. Downstairs there is a utility/wet room with a walk-in shower, WC and sink. All linen is provided.

Outside there is a decking area including a patio with garden furniture, great for a morning coffee whilst the sun is rising.

Visiting South Stainmore & Exploring Cumbria

We are only 10 minutes to the market town of Kirkby Stephen, home to lots of shops, a supermarket, cafes, restaurants, take-away and pubs. In the area there are lots of scenic walks/nature trails and fishing is also available. At Kirkby Stephen, you can cycle hire and Appleby has an indoor swimming pool. Enjoy a train ride from the Settle-Carlisle railways station whilst admiring the stunning views. Further attractions to visit include:

Brough Castle.
Stainmore Railway Company.
Winton Park.
Eden Valley Railway.
The Courtyard Gallery.
