Wood Barn Cottage barn offers self catering accommodation near Boot. Situated in a slightly elevated position, we offer extensive views across to Harter Fell and Birker Force waterfall. Our Cumbrian barn is in a great position, offering access to a lane footpath that leads directly to Eel Tarn and a route to Scafell. Nearby is the hamlet of Boot with its friendly inns, water mill museum and Ravenglass & Eskdale miniature railway.
Our cosy barn has been beautifully renovated to a high standard to offer quality accommodation. The barn sleeps 4 people, great for a family or group holiday in a gorgeous countryside setting.
The barn has a large open-plan living area with oak beams, a wooden floor and panoramic views from the verandah window up to Christcliff Wood with its varied birdlife and, of course, the Shetland ponies! The living area has TV, DVD and CD player etc. The kitchen and dining area has a fan oven, ceramic hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. On the same level is a twin en suite room with views across to Harter Fell. Downstairs is a double bedroom, an entrance lobby with space for bikes, drying room for walking boots and waterproofs etc, and an adjacent utility area with sink unit and washing machine.
All services, electricity, heating etc, bed linen, kitchen towels and complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits are included in the price.
Peaceful yet convenient location with magnificent views across the Eskdale valley. Ideally suited for all walking abilities – from gentle strolls along the River Esk, to the Scafell range, Wasdale and Coniston Fells. All can be designed to terminate at one of the many excellent pubs in the valley for good food and real ale. You can walk from the door into the surrounding fells and return to the comforts of a cosy fell-side cottage.
Well-stocked village store at Eskdale Green (10 min drive). Please note: Tesco operates a home delivery service to Eskdale. Local attractions include the Hardknott Roman Fort, Boot 's historic Water Mill, the Ravenglass & Eskdale steam railway, Muncaster Castle & Gardens (Birds of prey demonstrations in season), the historic port of Whitehaven. Wild beaches from Drigg to St Bees are excellent for dog walking.
