Summary

Sealladh na Mara (pronounced Shall-uh nuh Maa-ruh and Gaelic for “View of the Sea“) is a spacious, modern, detached self catering house accommodating eight in Lochinver, Sutherland. Close to the seashore and set in about an acre of wild, partly wooded garden, there are stunning views across Inverkirkaig Bay to the Assynt Mountains.

Downstairs

Sitting Room with windows on three sides affording views across Inverkirkaig Bay to the mountains. Widescreen television with Freesat, DVD/video, hi-fi with CD player, multi-fuel stove, ample seating.
Dining Room with double doors to verandah overlooking the bay. Flat screen television with Freeview.
Kitchen with wooden fitted units. Built in double oven, ceramic hob. Microwave, dishwasher, fridge and separate freezer. Window overlooking the bay.
Utility Room with washing machine and tumble dryer, stainless steel sink, fitted cupboards. Stable door to side of house.
Downstairs Bedroom with double bed and fitted wardrobes. View to mountains.
Shower Room with power shower, hand basin and WC.

Upstairs

Master Bedroom with king size bed and fitted wardrobes. Tea-coffee maker. Door onto balcony overlooking the sea.
Side Bedroom with twin beds and fitted wardrobes. View over woodland towards the sea.
Rear Bedroom with twin beds. View to hillside.
Bathroom with whirlpool spa bath.

Other information

Our self catering home is well stocked with books, maps, games and tourist information leaflets.
Ample garden furniture.
Level parking for up to four cars.
Payphone.
On arrival a small welcome pack of Scottish produce awaits visitors.
Price includes central heating, electricity, initial supply of fuel for stove in winter, bed linen and towels.
A cot with bedding, high chair and baby bath are provided.

Local Area

The surrounding area is famed for its wildlife; otters, seals, red and roe deer, pine martens, golden eagles and divers may be seen. There is a wealth of plant life including many alpine species and orchids. West Sutherland is a popular area with walkers, mountaineers, geologists and anglers. Mountain bikes can be hired in Lochinver. Close by there are fine white sand beaches for relaxing and bathing.
