Visiting Wye Forest and the surrounding area
Buttonoak is a great base from which to explore Shropshire. Track wildlife in Manor Holding’s own 5 acres (2ha) of wildflower meadows and ancient orchards. Or in the adjacent, Ancient Woodland National Nature Reserve. Or along the neolithic ridgeway long distance path of which our drive forms a small part.Or perhaps you would prefer to explore the 35 square miles of forest, on the vast network of offroad cycle trails and bridleways, leading to the cottage door.
Get close up and personal with big game wildlife at the West Midlands Safari Park and let your hair down at the funfair afterwards. Catch a steam train to the past along the verdant Severn 'Gorge'; on the Severn Valley Railway from Bewdley, Arley or Kidderminster.
Unwind with a day's fishing at a choice of local fishing ponds and rivers, or a round of golf at one of half a dozen high-quality local links.
