Manor Farm Properties offers outstanding self catering accommodation in the village of Thorndon, close to the market town of Eye in Suffolk. The Granary sleeps 2 people and Manor Barn Farm sleeps 10. If hired together we can accommodate up to 12 people.
Our property is perfect for a romantic getaway. This single-storey cottage offers original beamed ceilings and provides modern accommodation throughout.
There is an open plan living and kitchen area to suit all your needs. The fully equipped kitchen includes a cooker with 4 hobs and oven and grill, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster and microwave. The living area has a sofa, armchairs and wood burner.
A spacious bedroom comes with a super-king size bed that can be made as twin. En suite facilities include a shower room and WC.
Outside we have an enclosed garden with patio furniture and BBQ for al fresco dining over a glass or two.
The self catering barn is stylish and it has views of the Suffolk countryside. Our property has also been previously used for a TV Christmas special by The Hairy Bikers! We have a spectacular open plan living area it has vast windows, inglenook fireplace, flagstone floors, comfy sofas, cosy corners, lofty ceiling and walkway, it never feels crowded. There's a large wooden table for dining and French windows opening to the garden. The long, brick floor kitchen, overlooking fields, has a snug sitting room tucked to one side and good glasses aplenty for quaffing the local Suffolk wines and a fridge to chill them in.
There are five bedrooms with lovely cream walls, exposed beams and carpeted floors. Our furnishings are country style. 2 of the rooms are doubles and 3 are twins. There are two classic white bathrooms and a shower room as well.
We take care of everything for you as well as barbecue, high chairs, laundry room and a downstairs loo. We also have a neatly mown extensive garden with trampoline, wooden tables and chairs and a hot tub.
Thordon is surrounded by a network of footpaths, where many pleasant walks can be enjoyed. There is also a village church to explore.
For cyclists, the quiet country lanes provide ample opportunities to explore a little further afield. A short drive away is Thornham Country Park where the natural woodland provides a habitat for abundant wildlife that can be observed firsthand whilst taking a leisurely stroll.
Nearby Framlingham, a sleepy village boasting a turreted castle and once the original seat of the Dukes of Norfolk, lies in an area which has become the centre of East Anglia's flourishing wine industry, and a number of local vineyards offer tours and tastings.
For archaeological enthusiasts, Sutton Hoo provides an absorbing day out - now managed by the National Trust, this Anglo-Saxon burial site of Raedwald (King of East Anglia), was the place where priceless treasure was discovered within a huge ship grave.
Bressingham Steam Museum and Gardens provide a further enjoyable day out nearby. Within 25 miles lie Bury St Edmunds, Norwich and the Suffolk/Norfolk coast. In addition, nearby Eye has a collection of boutique shops and groceries stores.
