The Courtyard at Stowlangtoft Estate offers four beautiful country retreats and the versatile Dark Horse event space, perfect for family holidays, reunions, special celebrations and wedding guest accommodation. Situated in the glorious rolling Suffolk countryside and conveniently located just off the A14, these cottages provide an idyllic escape.

Recently and immaculately refurbished, the cottages and The Dark Horse are part of the stunning Stowlangtoft Hall Stable Courtyard redevelopment project. Stowlangtoft Hall, built in 1859 in the Italian architectural style, was originally occupied by the Maitland Wilson family.

The Dark Horse is a beautiful room for communal dining, cosy stable seating areas and a bar. There is also a catering kitchen, making it ideal for special events with caterers. A list of recommended caterers is available upon request.

Families with young children will find The Coach House and Amherst House particularly well-suited, with amenities including a children’s play area, football pitch, woodland walk and expansive outdoor space with stunning views.

The cottages are available to rent individually or collectively as The Courtyard at Stowlangtoft Estate for weekend breaks, mid-week breaks and week-long stays, all year round.

For larger groups, additional accommodation for up to 35 guests can be provided in Stearn Cottage and The Shooting Lodge, subject to availability.

All linens and towels are included in the cost of your stay, along with your first basket of wood for the fire/wood burner (where applicable).

Accommodation

- Amherst House: Sleeps 4-7 in 2 bedrooms - 1 double room with a room leading off it with a single bed & cot so ideal for children. 1 twin bedroom and a sofa bed.
- The Coach House: Sleeps 6-8 in 3 bedrooms - 1 double bedroom, 2 twin bedrooms and a sofa bed.
- Langetot: Sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms – 1 double bedroom and 1 twin room.
- Symonds House: Sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms – 1 double bedroom and 1 twin room.

Guests can explore the beautiful Suffolk countryside with walks along one of the four public footpaths on the Estate. There is plenty to see and do in the area, including:

St Edmundsbury Cathedral.
Moyse's Hall Museum.
Abbey Gardens.
Ickworth (National Trust).
Bury St Edmunds Abbey.
