Camps Heath Barn

Summary

Camps Heath Barn is located outside of Oulton & provides a charming mixture of traditional and modern accommodation. The spacious holiday accommodation is in a self contained annex and the main barn. These are furnished and equipped to please the most discerning visitor. Situated in a nature reserve near Lowestoft in Suffolk, they are secure and come with private patio areas overlooking the marshland.

Marsh Cottage

The holiday accommodation comprises of an open plan living room and kitchen/dining area. The comfortably furnished living area has Sky TV, a DVD player, DAB radio, a CD/radio and internet access.

For balmy Summer evenings, the annex has doors opening onto a patio garden area, which comes with garden chairs, table and barbeque. The modern kitchen is fully fitted and well equipped with fridge/freezer, cooker, ceramic hob and microwave. Marsh Cottage has two double bedrooms. There is a separate shower room complete with glass brick shower screen, basin and toilet.

The Barn

Upon entry to the barn, you will be greeted by a medieval style fireplace in a large galleried entrance hall with adjoining cloakroom. To the right, on three floors, are 4 bedrooms each with en suite facilities. Two of these are doubles, the other 2 are family rooms accommodating up to 4 people through connecting rooms.

The first and second floor living rooms have panoramic views over Oulton marshes and beyond. These are west facing, with the lower lounge having a dining area and balcony offering the chance of viewing spectacular sunsets.

Below is a spacious farmhouse kitchen, handmade by local tradesmen finished with granite worktops. The kitchen has a dining area seating 12 and sofas to relax. Through the patio doors is an outside terrace with pergola and views over the marshes.

A cot and high chair are available on request. There is a communal laundry room with ironing facilities. Electricity and under floor heating are included in the price. All rooms are provided with linen and towels.

Visiting Oulton & Exploring Suffolk

The barn at is situated on the edge of Oulton Marsh which is managed by Suffolk Wildlife Trust, who also have a gift shop and offer various activities. The views from the barn over the nature reserve are simply breathtaking, with the river Waveney and the broads only a short walk away.

Camps Heath is less than a five minute drive from Oulton Broad. Here you will find shops, a post office, two parks, cafes, restaurants and pubs. If you like river life, there are river boat trips along the Waveney or you can watch speed boat racing on the broad. For a bit of nightlife, you could enjoy a pint at one of numerous licensed bars or a glass of wine at the local wine bar.

Lowestoft is famous for its award winning beaches with golden sands stretching for miles. The local tourist board is situated on the seafront and offers a wide range of information from Somerleyton Hall to Suffolk Wildlife Park.
