Huntingball Lodge is an elegant, quiet country house that enjoys beautiful views of Blue Anchor Bay near Dunster. Nestled in a lovely part of rural Somerset and within easy reach of Exmoor National Park, our accommodation is the perfect base for a relaxing break. This elegant and quiet country house comprises of three holiday apartments, which are open all year round.

Our holiday accommodation is in an elevated position in its own park-like grounds of 1.5 acres. From every apartment, there are the most spectacular and far reaching views across the bay and along the West Somerset coast, towards the medieval village of Dunster and its castle and up to Dunkery Beacon (highest point on Exmoor), the Brendon Hills and surrounding Exmoor countryside. Each holiday cottage is exceedingly spacious, well furnished and uniquely individual in design.

A ground floor apartment with original wood panelled walls and carvings from the 1930’s. The accommodation offers a warm and inviting space, beginning with a comfortable sitting room adorned with oak-panelled walls and large picture windows on two sides, providing stunning views of the gardens, Exmoor, and the bay. A door leads directly onto a spacious private patio, perfect for outdoor relaxation. The generously sized double bedroom also features original oak panelling and lovely views, while the single bedroom is bright and cosy. A large kitchen and dining area, complete with an entrance porch, provides ample space for meals and gatherings. The property also includes a well-appointed bathroom with both a bath and shower, as well as a separate WC for added convenience.

This apartment is an extremely large, two bedroom first-floor apartment, boasting spectacular views from all the rooms. The accommodation features a spacious sitting room with sweeping 180-degree views across Blue Anchor Bay and the surrounding Exmoor and Brendon Hills. The main bedroom includes a king-sized bed and overlooks the bay, while the large twin bedroom offers equally beautiful views. A generous kitchen and dining area opens directly onto a private roof terrace complete with patio furniture, perfect for outdoor dining or relaxing. The property also includes a well-fitted bathroom with a shower for added comfort.

This one bedroom apartment is located on the first floor. It has views of the gardens as well as a private terrace for those days you'd like to soak up the sun or enjoy the fresh night air. The accommodation includes a tastefully decorated sitting room offering views over the gardens, a well-equipped fitted kitchen and a spacious bedroom featuring a super king-sized bed with views of the sea. Completing the space is a well-appointed shower room, providing comfort and convenience throughout your stay.

This spacious two bedroom apartment is located on the second-floor and has the most stunning views from its lounge, as well as a large, private balcony. The accommodation features a spacious sitting room that opens onto a large private balcony, offering views of Exmoor and Blue Anchor Bay. The main bedroom is generously sized, with a super king-sized bed and views over the gardens and sea. A twin bedroom also enjoys vistas across the surrounding Exmoor and Brendon Hills. The fully fitted kitchen and dining room overlook the sea, creating a scenic setting for meals, while a well-appointed bathroom with a shower adds comfort and convenience.

This apartment is located on the ground floor. With views of the main gardens as well as the benefit of a private terrace for those sunny days or starry nights. The accommodation includes a tastefully decorated sitting room, a well-equipped fitted kitchen, a comfortable bedroom with a double-sized bed and an easy-access shower room, providing a practical and welcoming space for a relaxing stay.

There are two pubs within easy walking distance and a local tea room. Just ten minutes walk along the seafront there is a convenience store/newsagents together with a small indoor swimming pool. Railway enthusiasts will love the West Somerset Steam Railway, which runs between Bishops Lydeard and Minehead and which stops at the station at the far end of Blue Anchor Bay just a 15-minute stroll from the house. There is so much to do and see, no matter what the season, in this beautiful part of the West Country.

From visiting the picturesque and historic towns and villages, walking, riding, cycling through the unspoilt countryside and across the moors or taking a trip on the Steam Railway. Or simply just curl up with a good book in the comfort of your apartment and admire the spectacular scenery (with perhaps a glass of the famous local cider!). You’ll be spoilt for choice!
