Pride-N-Joy is a ground floor, 3 star rated, self-catering holiday apartment located at the east coastal resort of Bridlington. The apartment is very disabled friendly and was modified in 2011 to be fully wheelchair accessible, providing excellent access for guests with physical limitations, including disabled and elderly visitors. The property holds a National Accessible Scheme rating of Mobility M3A for assisted wheelchair users, which is the highest level awarded in Bridlington.
The apartment sleeps between one and four people and can be arranged as two double beds.
The living room is large and comfortable and includes a double bed settee that is fully sprung to ensure a good night’s sleep. Entertainment is provided by a 40 inch HD flat screen TV with Freeview and a USB port for playing your own media. A desktop computer is also available for free use, with optional unlimited broadband for a small extra charge, and the electric coin meter is conveniently located nearby.
The dining and kitchen area is open plan. The dining space occupies half the room and features an oak butterfly table with four chairs. Opposite are lockable cupboards containing additional items that can be requested during your stay, such as extra towels, which can be arranged easily using the free Skype telephone. The fully fitted kitchen includes a full size electric cooker, gas hob, dishwasher and everything needed to prepare meals comfortably.
The bedroom features a five foot electric double bed with individual controls, or alternatively two adjustable single beds on request. These can raise or recline at the touch of a button to ensure a restful sleep. The room has easy-clean vinyl flooring, bright décor, a wardrobe with mirror and an optional under-mattress fire alarm for deaf guests.
The wet room has been carefully designed with accessibility in mind and includes a wall-mounted shower with adjustable height settings, a drop-down shower chair, grab rails and full-length mirrors. Toilet seat extensions are available to hire if required. Outside, guests can enjoy a wooden gazebo with seating and tables, as well as secure mobility scooter storage.
The apartment also benefits from a dedicated disabled parking space just a short distance from the entrances. Access is available either via the communal front door with two small steps, or through the garden gate and gentle ramp leading directly into the apartment’s private kitchen entrance.
The apartment is located just a few minutes’ walk from the seafront and its award-winning beach. It is also close to a supermarket and the main shopping area, which includes essential services such as a chemist, banks, a post office and GP surgeries. Places to visit include:
