Gorton House & Orchard Cottages offers self catering accommodation in Lasswade, just outside of Scotland's fabulous capital of Edinburgh. All of our cottages are set within a walled garden next to Roslin Glen and enjoy stunning views towards the Pentland Hills.

Plum, Apple and Cherry Cottages were thoughtfully designed to reflect the character of the nearby historic Gorton House. Each one looks south over the walled garden and takes its name from the fruit trees that grow in its setting. The cottages all feature their own generous, dog-friendly gardens along with private parking for two cars. A gentle stroll through the Gorton grounds rewards you with beautiful views across Roslin Glen toward the Pentland Hills and the surrounding countryside.

Each cottage sleeps up to four guests across two bedrooms, offering a comfortable double room and a twin room. The living room features patio doors that open out to the garden, creating a bright and relaxing space, while the fully equipped kitchen includes everything needed for self-catering. There is also a shower room for convenience. Amenities include electric heating, a private garden, and private parking for two cars, along with hairdryers, linen and towels, toiletries, a dishwasher, cooker, microwave, cooking and cleaning equipment, Wi-Fi, TV and a selection of books and games for guests to enjoy.

Edinburgh's famous Prince's Street and Edinburgh Castle is only a 20 minute drive away and the city provides all the attractions expected from Scotland's capital, yet within 5 miles of the rural setting of these holiday cottages are the sporting facilities of 8 golf courses, river and loch fishing, pony trekking, a dry ski slope and 3 leisure centres with swimming pools. The Penicuik to Dalkeith walk/cycle track passes the gates of Gorton House, while the Pentland Hills Regional Park provides the backdrop and is readily accessible.
