Fairview offers self catering accommodation located in Gulberwick near Lerwick in the Shetland Islands, right on the coast. The house was built when Gulberwick was populated by nothing more than a few crofts and farms, together with the school and church. It faces landscaped gardens surrounded on three sides by fields and has an open outlook.
The location of the self catering cottage gives it a unique sense of privacy with the beach a 5 minute stroll away while being only a short drive from all the amenities of Lerwick.
The house is deceptively spacious, offering a comfortable and flexible layout ideal for a relaxing stay. Upstairs, there are two well-appointed bedrooms that can be configured with either two single beds or a super-king bed, depending on guests’ preferences. Each bedroom includes en-suite facilities with a toilet, wash-hand basin and heated towel rail, along with ample storage space for clothes and personal belongings. Both rooms are equipped with hairdryers, hot water bottles and a selection of feather or synthetic pillows. The silk duvets add a touch of luxury and additional features like clock radios, a bedside tea maker and dormer windows with cushioned benches create peaceful spots to unwind with a book or enjoy the views. Shelving, baskets and hanging space provide convenient storage throughout.
Downstairs, the house features a fully equipped modern kitchen with a large Rangemaster dual fuel cooking range, combining a gas hob and electric ovens, along with a dishwasher for added convenience. There are two supermarkets just 5-10 minutes away by car in Lerwick ( Co-op and Tesco) plus a number of smaller shops in Commercial Street in Lerwick. Both supermarkets are en route if you are coming to Fairview from the ferry terminal.
The Clickimin leisure complex is just 7 minutes away in Lerwick and has an excellent pool with Rapid River Ride, Outdoor lagoon, 2 flumes, a toddler pool and Hydrotherapy pool. The Apex fitness centre has all the cardiovascular and resistance equipment you might need. There are many fitness classes available throughout the week.
