Bread Oven Cottage offers self catering accommodation in the village of Smailholm. Our cottage dates from the 17th Century and is situated in the heart of the Scottish Borders, ideally placed between the bustling town of Kelso and picturesque Melrose.
Accommodation
Our fully renovated cottage is brimming with character and perfect for a tranquil break in a scenic location. The cottage sleeps up to 4 people, comes furnished with modern furniture and offers everything you need for a memorable holiday.Inside there is an open plan lounge with a toasty wood burner, comfy seating and a Smart TV, an ideal place to unwind after a day of exploring the area. Cook up a feast in the well-equipped kitchen and enjoy the results in the dining area. Two unique bedrooms are available, one with an ensuite and one with private facilities.
Facilities in the cottage included full Wi-Fi controlled and zoned central heating, LED lighting and low energy appliances. We also offer untethered 7.2kw charging facilities for electric vehicles on site. There is also a large commercial fast charging facility just 6miles away in Tweedbank.
Outside there is an enclosed garden with a sun-filled seating area. A great place for a spot of al fresco dining over a few glasses of wine.
Short Breaks Available, minimum of two-night stays from £90 - £120 per night.
Visiting Smailholm & Exploring The Scottish Borders
Smailholm is a quaint village that is home to Smailholm Tower, a striking peel tower that inspired Sir Walter Scott. The Borders is home to an array of wonderful attractions/activities for the whole family, including historical abbeys, ancient castles, magnificent country estates, walking, biking, fishing and shooting. Only an hour away is the famous city of Edinburgh and slightly further is Glasgow. Further attractions to visit include:Kelso Abbey.
