The Bee Cottage offers delightful self catering accommodation in the quaint village of Cottesmore. Our 17th Century thatched cottage near Oakham is only 5 minutes away from Rutland Water and sleeps up to 5 people.
Accommodation
Our cottage offers high-quality accommodation whilst maintaining original features, including gorgeous exposed beams.The lounge has 3 cosy seating areas to relax in. The main sofa faces a toasty wood burner and a TV with free Netflix. A second seating area faces a stone fireplace and provides a lovely spot for socialising and relaxing. Tucked away into a corner by a window is a third seating area, ideal for reading a good book or enjoying a morning coffee. You can also relax in the conservatory which is furnished with two large chairs and has space for a tray of coffee. The string of lightbulbs creates a magical atmosphere in the evening, perfect for after-dinner drinks.
Our well-equipped kitchen comes with a range of appliances to suit all your needs: fridge freezer, microwave, gas stove, oven and a dishwasher. Large windows from the conservatory bring plenty of natural light around the dining table that seats up to 6 people.
Three bedrooms are available. On the ground floor is a single room which enjoys lovely views and garden access. Upstairs is a master room with a king-size bed including a handmade wooden headboard. A third room comes with twin beds and lavish hotel-quality cotton sheets. Upstairs there is also a family bathroom with metro tiles and an electric power shower.
Outside we have a south-facing garden with two seating areas, ideal for al fresco dining whilst the sun is shining.
Visiting Cottesmore & Exploring Rutland
Within 10 minutes of our cottage is Rutland Water, a water park offering fishing, walking, cycling, watersports, beaches and picnics. Stamford is a centuries-old town with Georgian architecture, excellent shops and riverside meadows. The towns of Oakham and Uppingham also offer a variety of individual boutiques and art galleries. Great attractions to visit while staying with us include:Oakham Castle.
