Accommodation

A really great feature of this house is the two large reception rooms, one used as a lounge diner and the other as a sitting room. Both have very comfortable seating for six people. Each room has a TV and DVD player. Wi-Fi is also provided. Your party can settle down throughout the house, conservatory and garden - and enjoy your own space.

The three good sized bedrooms are furnished as two twins and a double with one of the twin rooms located on the ground floor. There is ample storage space in each room.

There is a family bathroom, and also a separate shower room and toilet, both located on the ground floor.

Moving on to the kitchen we have provided just about everything we think you would need.

A washing machine and tumble drier are also available so don’t overdo the clothes packing. Remember, all linen and towels are provided at no extra charge.

Visiting Kirkwall & Exploring Orkney

Overbigging stands in its own grounds on top of a rise offering privacy and unobstructed views for miles around, overlooking Maes Howe with distant views of Hoy. Within a couple of miles are the World Heritage Sites of Maes Howe, the Ring of Brodgar and the Standing Stones of Stenness.

A petrol station and general store in nearby Stenness Village is open seven days a week supplying fuel, and basic groceries. There is a large Co-op store in Stromness where a full range of groceries are available. A short distance away, The Standing Stones Hotel, sitting on the edge of the Stenness Loch, has an attractive bar and good restaurant facilities, serving a wide selection of local produce.

For those who like fishing, one of the best trout lochs in Orkney is just a short walk away and the fishing is free.
