Rose & Sweet Briar Holiday Cottages offers self catering accommodation in the hamlet of Kersall. We are situated in an idyllic, quiet and rural setting near Newark in Nottinghamshire.
Both of our cottages are beautifully furnished and offer countryside views. The cottages also boast relaxing south facing gardens for al fresco dining and have access to a range lovely footpaths to explore the countryside. You might even catch a glimpse of the Highland Cattle.
This single-storey cottage sleeps 2 people. Inside the cottage there is a cosy beamed sitting room with seating, a TV/DVD player and an electric log effect fire within the original Victorian fireplace for the chillier months.
A well-equipped kitchen comes with a range of appliances for home-cooking: electric cooker, microwave, washer/dryer and an under counter fridge/freezer and a dining table. A stable door opens onto the outside area. The bedroom has twin beds and French windows offers views over the garden. The bathroom has a heater and has a shower over bath.
Outside there is a patio area with garden furniture. The perfect spot for a glass of wine whilst admiring your surroundings.
Sweet Briar Cottage – Sleeps 4
This single-storey cottage sleeps up to 4 people. Inside there is a relaxing sitting room that enjoys a country cottage feel. Facilities includes comfy seating, a TV/DVD player and an electric log effect fire within a brick-built fireplace.Rustle up some delicious meals in the well-equipped kitchen which has an electric cooker, microwave, washer/dryer, an under-counter fridge/freezer and a dining table. A stable door opens onto the outside area. Bedrooms consist of a double and twin room. A bathroom comes with a heater and an electric shower.
Outside there is a patio area with garden furniture, great for a coffee in the morning sun. Guests in both cottages are also welcome to use the 1.5-acre garden and savour the countryside views.
We are suitable for people with limited mobility, with grab rails around the properties but there are 3 steps into the accommodation. Please see our access statement for further information.
Visiting Kersall & Exploring Nottinghamshire
We are in the ideal location for exploring the local area, with all the amenities just 6 miles away, including lots of great farm shops which sell homemade produce. The area is renowned for Sherwood Forest, the legendary home of Robin Hood. You can wander around the ancient woodland and enjoy one of the many picnic areas. Visit the magnificent Newark Castle which overlooks the River Trent and stroll around the grounds. We are as close to Lincoln as Nottingham. Golfers can play a round at Rufford Golf Club which is just a short distance from us. Further attractions to visit include:
