It nestles in the gardens of an 18th Century cottage, just five miles south of the historic market town of Hexham. with far-reaching views over pastureland and a wildlife pond to forest and fell. Hadrian’s Wall, the Northumberland National Park, Kielder Water, the Northumberland Heritage Coast, the North Pennines AONB, and the bright lights of Newcastle and Gateshead are all within easy reach.
Winner of NE England Self Catering Property of the Year 2016, Woodside Lodge has a half vaulted living space with a light and airy sitting area and a fully equipped kitchen/diner with granite worktops, induction hob, electric oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washer-dryer, and a comprehensive range of kitchen utensils. Wide bi-fold doors lead onto the terrace with far-reaching views over pastureland, and a wildlife pond towards forest and fell.

Outside is a decked area with seating and a BBQ, where you can relax and enjoy tranquil views over farmland. The birdlife is especially interesting; in spring, look out for curlews and lapwings, while in summer, swallows swoop and dive over the grass and buzzards soar lazily over the woodland. This is part of a working farm, so you may also see livestock (cattle or sheep). A separate lockable dry storage area is available for bulky items such as walking gear and bicycles.
Woodside Lodge is located in the heart of historic Hexhamshire in Northumberland, five miles south of the market town of Hexham, with its fine abbey, vibrant arts scene, Old Gaol and market, and recently included in the Sunday Times' list of the 'top ten best places to live in the UK'. Hadrian's Wall, Northumberland National Park, Kielder Water, Northumberland Heritage Coast, the spectacular landscape of the North Pennines AONB, and the bright lights of Newcastle and Gateshead are all within easy reach.
There are more castles and fortified houses in Northumberland than in any other county in Britain, a result of centuries of border warfare with the Scots. Alnwick Castle, Bamburgh Castle, Chillingham Castle, Lindisfarne Castle and Warkworth Castle are all worth a visit.
