Egton Cottage offers self catering accommodation in the village of Ruswarp. We are situated in a glorious hillside position and boast panoramic views of Whitby Abbey on the coast and the North York Moors. Our cottage nearby Whitby is the perfect place to stay in this beautiful part of North Yorkshire.
Our cottage was lovingly converted from an old farm building to offer cosy & comfortable accommodation.
The ground floor cottage has a comfortable open plan living area with a fully equipped kitchen. Appliances in the kitchen include a gas oven and hob, fridge and microwave. The sitting/dining room comes with a gas fire and TV.
Outside there are large lawns and a sheltered courtyard with seating. A great place for a spot of al fresco dining.
Ruswarp has riverside tea gardens, boats for hire on the River Esk and is also home to the weekly livestock mart on Wednesdays. This event is full of local character and strongly recommended for those interested in the agricultural life of the moors and dales.
The coastal town of Whitby, nestling amongst the cliffs on the edge of the North York Moors, has a unique atmosphere that marks it apart from other seaside locations in the UK. A sense of history and drama permeates the town, from the traditional cobbled streets, picturesque houses and museums to the spectacular cliff top ruins of the 13th century Whitby Abbey. Lots of attractions are nearby, including:
Whitby Abbey.
Captain Cook Memorial Museum.
