New Close Cottage is a self catering holiday home in North Yorkshire that can be found on a working farm by Kirkby Malham near Skipton.
The cottage is a beautifully renovated farmhouse offering cosy and comfortable accommodation for up to five people, perfect for couples and families with older children.
The ground floor consists of a lounge, a spacious kitchen/diner, a utility room and a peaceful reading room. Upstairs, the first floor features two double bedrooms, a single bedroom and a bathroom.
The cottage is well-equipped with modern amenities, including electricity and oil central heating (included in the stay), while the open fire is available for an additional charge. Linen and towels are provided, along with a hairdryer, electric blankets, radio alarm clocks, an electric fire, a digital TV, a CD player and a radio. The kitchen facilities include an AGA-style stove, a freezer, a fridge with a small ice box, a microwave and a washing machine. Ironing facilities are also available for guests' convenience.
For cyclists and bikers, there is safe storage and a dedicated bike cleaning area. The outdoor space features a generous grassed area, as well as a spacious glazed garden house furnished with a table and chairs, providing a perfect spot to relax. There is secure and ample parking, along with a storage area for boots, wet clothing, bikes and other outdoor gear.
The surrounding area offers an abundance of excellent walking routes, with the Pennine Way long-distance footpath nearby. The Three Peaks—Pen-y-ghent, Ingleborough and Whernside are within reach for those looking for a challenge, while more leisurely walks to Malham Cove and Gordale Scar are also easily accessible. We are ideally located for exploring the Yorkshire Dales by car. Picturesque villages such as Bolton Abbey and Grassington are just a 30-minute drive away, while Herriot country in Thirsk and Brontë country in Haworth offer further opportunities for exploration. The market town of Settle is just a 10-minute drive away and is home to the famous Settle-Carlisle railway, a must-visit for rail enthusiasts. For those wishing to explore beyond the Dales, the stunning Lake District is only an hour’s drive away, as is the historic city of York, renowned for its rich heritage and tourist attractions.
