About The Cottage
Our charming cottage is great for a relaxing holiday in a lovely part of the country. The cottage is well-equipped throughout.Sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms and 2 sofas in the lounge. Bedrooms consist of 1 double with pine 4 poster bed which offers amazing view of steam train powering up the line. A 2nd bedroom comes with adult sized bunk beds. A bathroom includes a WC, vanity unit and shower over the bath. Unwind in the lounge/diner which comes with beams, electric stove type fire in feature fireplace, TV/DVD player, dining table and chairs, 2 sofas. A large kitchen comes with usual electric appliances.
Garden with open aspect of countryside and sun house with comfortable seating.
Private parking behind cottage.
All linen and electricity provided. Sorry no dogs.
Visiting Grosmont & Exploring North Yorkshire
Grosmont developed mainly as a centre of ironstone mining, which flourished during the nineteenth century. Today, the village is dominated by the trains operated by the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. This runs from Pickering to Grosmont, with an extra service along the Esk Valley Railway line. The Esk Valley Railway shares the station with the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Here the heritage and the service trains meet on opposite platforms. Visit the engine shed a short walk from the station to view the maintenance carried out on the steam engines.Whitby seaside town is close to the cottage. It has Blue Flag beaches, shops and delicious fish and chips. There are a range of activities to enjoy including horse riding, walking, golfing and boating.
North Yorkshire is the largest county in England. It is filled with interesting towns and seaside resorts. The list of places to visit is endless. Some examples of attractions include:
