Summary

Brook House Farm sits in the heart of the Lincolnshire Wolds near the village of Scamblesby, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty famed for its rolling hills, big skies and welcoming market towns. Dating from the eighteenth century, the traditional farm buildings have been sensitively converted into two stylish self-catering properties that combine original beams and stonework with under-floor heating, modern kitchens and spacious social areas. Surrounded by paddocks, footpaths and bridleways and with a working horse stud on site, the farm is a peaceful base for family gatherings, walking parties or anyone who simply wants to unwind in idyllic rural surroundings.

The Barn

The Barn is a spacious, holiday home for up to 12 guests, centred on a large kitchen equipped with two sinks, hobs, ovens and fridges plus a freezer, dishwasher, utility room with washer and wine cooler. There is a lounge with comfortable leather sofas, TV and DVD and a smaller first-floor sitting area both enjoy panoramic paddock views. Five en-suite bedrooms, two step-free ground-floor twins/doubles (wet-room showers), an upstairs double, twin (optionally a second twin set) and king bedroom ensure flexibility and privacy. Outside, a patio and open lawn provide picnic tables, a BBQ and ample on-site parking.

The Cottage

All on one level, this immaculately kept cottage sleeps 4 people and features two bedrooms (one king, one twin), a lounge-diner with Wi-Fi, TV and DVD and a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, fridge, freezer, oven, hob and microwave. The bathroom includes both a bath and separate shower and guests have access to shared laundry facilities. Outside, a private area with picnic table and BBQ completes this comfortable retreat.

Visiting the Area

Step straight from the door onto miles of footpaths that wind across the Wolds or saddle up and explore an extensive network of bridleways and quiet lanes. Cadwell Park motor-racing circuit is only a mile away, while golfers can test their skills at Woodhall Spa or Louth. The unspoilt market towns of Louth and Horncastle tempt with independent shops and traditional pubs serving the famed Tastes of Lincolnshire produce and the historic city of Lincoln, with its cathedral and castle, is around half an hour by car. Families will love the wide sandy beaches at Sutton-on-Sea, Mablethorpe and Skegness, and in November and December the grey seal colony at Donna Nook provides a breathtaking wildlife spectacle.
