Walton Thorns Farm Holiday Cottages are 3 delightfully appointed self-catering holiday homes for adult guests only. Based on our arable farm near to Six Hills in Leicestershire and within easy reach of Leicester, Nottingham, Loughborough and Melton Mowbray. All have access to our farm walks in the undulating landscape of the Wolds. There are great views from all the cottages with abundant wildlife and birds close by. Each cottage has a fully equipped kitchen with washer/dryer, comfortable beds, quality furniture and they are maintained to a high standard throughout.

Stays of 3 or more nights, arriving any day of the week are available. Booking is easily done from our website or by phone to the owner. All cottages are ground floor with level access. Dairy Cottage is particularly suitable for those who are less able. For longer bookings a call to the owner is required.

The Old Hay Barn

This cosy cottage is perfect for the solo traveller or a couple seeking a quiet break away. With a vaulted ceiling and lovely oak beams it oozes character. The bedroom has a king sized sleigh bed and en-suite shower room. The living area opens directly to your own private patio – ideal for breakfasts or relaxing coffees watching the nature close by.

Shire Cottage

With two spacious double bedrooms, each with king sized beds and en-suite bathrooms – one with a shower over bath and the other a shower, this cottage is ideal for either two couples or those that just like the space and the views. The living area has a wall of windows facing the countryside, is really spacious and with oak dining table and comfy sofas to relax on. Your patio awaits for a bite to eat or a glass of wine.

Dairy Cottage

With 4 single beds in two very spacious bedrooms, large kitchen and living room this cottage is ideal for friends or colleagues who like space. There is a shower room/wc and another separate cloakroom. With 2 sofas, wood look tiled floors and rugs this is the more contemporary look cottage.

Visiting Thrussington & Exploring Leicestershire

Thrussington is one of a few typical Wolds villages along with Seagrave, Hoby and Burton on the Wolds within 4 miles of our cottages. All have pubs with excellent food and no matter your preference there will be somewhere to enjoy the best of Leicestershire food.

There are many attractions to cater for the interests of guests be it National Trust properties at Stoneywell, Calke Abbey or Belton House: historical interest at Richard 111 Exhibition, Bosworth Battlefields or Belvoir Castle: nature watching at Rutland Water or Attenborough Nature Reserve: walking local paths, the Grantham Canal or Bradgate Park. Ragdale Hall Spa is only 2 miles away.
