Seann Druim is a charming detached croft cottage situated in the crofting township of Balmacquien, located towards the end of the Trotternish Peninsula on the Isle of Skye. Offering panoramic sea and coastal views from the front and hill views from the rear, this original stone cottage has been lovingly extended and renovated to comfortably accommodate up to 4 people.

The Accommodation

Retaining some traditional features, it exudes a warm and cosy atmosphere while providing all modern comforts. The ground floor features quarry-tiled rooms, wooden V-lined walls and ceilings, oil-fired central heating, double glazing, Sky TV and free WiFi. The generous kitchen/dining area includes a dining table and chairs, electric cooker, microwave oven, refrigerator and freezer. A utility/shower room off the hall on the ground floor offers a shower cubicle, sink, washing machine and drying rails. The cosy lounge is perfect for relaxing and enjoying views of the sea and Western Isles. Guests can also unwind with a selection of novels or Skye guides, listen to music, play games, or watch TV or a DVD in front of the open fire. A sun lounge overlooks the surrounding countryside and offers westward views towards Sron Vourlinn at the end of the Trotternish Ridge. Upstairs, two cosy bedrooms, a double and a twin boast stunning sea views, with a bathroom conveniently located between them. Outside, the cottage sits within nearly an acre of fully fenced grounds, including a large lawn at the front and an enclosed garden at the rear, with parking space available for 2 cars.

The Location

Seann Druim’s location on the Trotternish Peninsula places it amidst some of the most spectacular landscapes in the British Isles, featuring magnificent mountains, moorland, lochs and sea. Nearby, the Quiraing stands as one of Scotland’s most dramatic natural rock formations, while the coastal cliffs, stacks, sea caves, arches, waterfalls and diverse marine and bird life offer endless opportunities for exploration and scenic walks.
