Tigh na Cidhe, translated from Gaelic as "House on the Slip," has been beautifully renovated and occupies an iconic, isolated position. Perched on rocks just 10 metres from the high tide, it boasts uninterrupted, magnificent views to the north and east across the Kylerhea narrows to the mainland. Located adjacent to the Kylerhea ferry slip and at the far end of the Kylerhea road, the house enjoys complete isolation, especially during the beginning and end of summer days and throughout winter, with only a few distant houses visible across the mainland. The breathtaking views make it an ideal spot for viewing the northern lights.

The cottage accommodates up to 6 people, featuring two twin rooms and a downstairs toilet/shower room in the main part. It boasts a modern kitchen with seating and a sitting room complete with a wood-burning stove and TV. An extension adds a second sitting room with expansive glass doors offering spectacular sea views, where guests can often observe otters feeding on nearby rocks and local sea eagles fishing or chasing gulls. A unique spiral staircase leads from this sitting room to the master bedroom, which includes a double bed and ensuite shower facilities. The room's large windows provide stunning views over the Kylerhea narrows towards the Scottish mainland. Additionally, the cottage is equipped with a contemporary kitchen and dining area, featuring an electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and a dining table with six chairs.

Kylerhea is the Scottish equivalent of Yellowstone and the abundant wildlife is easy to observe. In the water, our daily visitors can see the seals and otters catching fish and crabs, while dolphins, porpoises and basking sharks frequently transit through the narrows. On land, we have roe deer, red deer, mink, pine martens, weasels, foxes, adders and alpacas. In the air, golden eagles fly the high ridges above while Victor and Orla our resident sea eagles rob fish off the seagulls right outside the patio doors. You can fish, canoe, sail and go walking in some of the wildest county anywhere in Britain. Attractions to visit include:
