Gille Ghagaich Cottage was once a steading and now provides high-quality self catering accommodation in the grounds of Achavoulin, one mile from Blackwaterfoot on the Isle of Arran. The holiday cottage can sleep up to 5 people and there is off-road parking and lots of garden space.
The holiday cottage accommodation consists of a sitting room with open fire and TV, plus a DVD player. The well-equipped kitchen/breakfast room comes with a fridge/freezer, oven and hob with an extractor fan, microwave, oven, dishwasher and clothes washing machine.
Upstairs there is a twin bedroom (with super-king option) with en suite facilities and a family bedroom with en suite facilities. Downstairs there is a separate arrangement, a super king bedroom with a shower and WC. This room has two sofas to off an additional chill-out space from the sitting room.
Guests are very welcome to explore our extensive garden which has a burn running through it. Paths lead you past rhododendrons, azaleas and camellias. There is a private grass area outside the cottage with a garden table and chairs.
The west coast of Arran is spectacular with its bays and coastline and gives magnificent views across to the Mull of Kintyre. Often called "Scotland in Miniature" as Arran seems to embody the wide variety of landscapes from rugged peaks to gentle rolling hills. Arran is also known as the "golfers paradise" with seven courses within easy reach, including a stunning "top 100" twelve hole course at Blackwaterfoot. The family also own a salmon/sea trout spate river, which can be let by separate arrangement. Attractions to visit include:
