Cothill Barn is a beautifully renovated home offering comfort and charm throughout. The entrance hallway includes an understairs loo, a small workspace, a Bluetooth speaker and a sitting area. The fully equipped kitchen features a 4-oven range cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and all essentials for meals big or small. The spacious sitting room, with a wood burner and squashy sofas, is perfect for relaxing, while the snug doubles as a children’s room or additional bedroom with a double sofa bed and garden access.
The barn boasts five bedrooms: a ground-floor room with an antique French double bed, wet room, and field views; a luxurious king-size master suite with a roll-top bath; a gallery room with a king-size bed and child’s area; a rustic twin room with an en suite; and additional cozy spaces for guests. A utility room with underfloor heating ensures practicality, while two enclosed gardens, a fire pit, alfresco dining for 16, and a balcony offer ample outdoor relaxation.
The Stable has been stylishly transformed. The living room features comfortable sofas, a wood burner, TV/DVD, Bluetooth speaker and countryside views, along with nostalgic touches recalling its former use for farm horses. The fully equipped kitchen includes a state-of-the-art oven, fridge freezer, Nespresso machine and Granny's china tea set for added charm. A utility room with heated flooring is perfect for boots and dogs, housing a washer, dryer and sink, while a convenient downstairs loo is also available.
Upstairs, the spacious master bedroom offers a king-size bed, en suite with a walk-in rain shower, dual views of the Black Mountains and Golden Valley and space for a child’s bed or cot. The twin-bedded second bedroom features a high window, en suite bathroom, walk-in wardrobe and retro Roberts’ radio.
Outside, the large enclosed garden boasts stunning valley views, dining and sitting areas and a firepit, with ample gravel parking space for several cars, making it a perfect countryside escape.
Just across the yard, there's a recreational area equipped with ping pong, pool, darts, table football and other bar games, making it a delightful source of entertainment for both children and adults. It's common to see lively ping pong battles extending well into the evening, adding to the fun and camaraderie of the space.
Herefordshire has a huge range of attractions including the Festival of Literature in Hay-on-Wye and the Hereford Cider Museum. Our accommodation is on the route of a footpath and it’s a pleasant walk from there down to Peterchurch with medieval church, local pubs, post office and shop. There are well marked routes in the area.
