Ty Gwennol - Sleeps 6

This is a restored two storey stone built detached Welsh cottage with spectacular views front and back. There are 3 bedrooms - a double bedroom, twin bedroom and a third bedroom with adult sized bunks. The lounge has an inglenook fireplace and the kitchen diner is fully equipped and seats six.

Y Llaethdy - Sleeps 2/3

This is a single storey semi detached, snug cottage. The main living area consists of an open plan dining, lounge and galley kitchen area with pretty furnishings in country colours. It has a real country feel and a socialable atmosphere where our guests can spend quality time together. It has a family bedroom containing a double bed with a single bed situated through a curtained archway off the main bedroom.

Ty Hen : Sleeps 4

This single storey semi detached cottage has views over the Swm Main valley. The lounge and dining room both have timbered walls with the cosy living room having huge beams in the vaulted ceiling. The kitchen is fully equipped and has lovely views. Sleeping arrangements are catered for in one double and one twin bedroom.

Hafod Las: Sleeps 2

From the cottage there is an amazing view down the valley, with Llyn Tegid nestled between the Aran and Arenig mountains and Cader Idris mountain in the distance. There is an open plan living room, kitchen and dining area with magnificent views down the valley. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of cupboard space and work surfaces and a full size fridge and freezer, the floor has a tiled non slip surface. The bedroom has a double bed.

All cottages

The cottages are all individually styled and have been designed with your warmth and comfort in mind, all benefit from double glazing, central heating and hot water supplied by an environmentally friendly biomass boiler. The furniture, soft furnishings and equipment are to Visit Wales Grade 4 standard. The cottages are inspected and graded by the Tourist Board (Visit Wales) annually. All cottages have good Three, Orange and EE, 3g mobile coverage. O2 can be a little hit and miss. There is also limited WiFi available; weather, masts and data limit permitting. If mobile data is critical to your stay please bring your own device.

Apart from each of the private cottage gardens there is another garden for all guests to enjoy, this has two ponds, plenty of seating and an ideal spot for relaxing, or studying wild life. The wildlife visitors includes endless varieties of tiny creatures and plant life and many species of birds in different seasons. There is also a playing field for children with seating where panoramic views of the surrounding countryside can be enjoyed.

Visiting Ty Hen & Exploring Gwynedd

Pen Cefn is a stones throw away from Bala in Southern Snowdonia, it is a perfect base to tour the area which provides a multitude of fun, interesting or relaxing activities. Bala itself is approximately 5 minute’s drive away. It is an attractive and lively historic market town, within the boundaries of the Snowdonia National Park where there are interesting shops, inns and restaurants. Bala is situated on the shores of Llyn Tegid, the largest natural lake in Wales and home of a unique fish, the Gwyniaid which dates back to the Ice-Age. Alongside the lake runs a charming narrow-gauge steam railway. Superb attractions to visit include:
