Mill End in Mitcheldean is a historic Grade II listed building dating back to the 1400s that now offers high-quality accommodation. Our spacious medieval country house blends original features with modern-day comforts in the enchanting Forest of Dean. Further afield you can visit lots of brilliant attractions in Gloucestershire whilst staying with us.

Accommodation

We offer accommodation in 3 properties that are internally linked to create Mill End. Our accommodation has been beautifully renovated to suit all your needs, great for big family gatherings, wedding anniversaries, birthday parties and daytime development days.

We offer bespoke, sophisticated, spa break hen weekends where you can indulge in fine dining, in-house pamper treatments and hampers. Our little sister company Bordello Banquets also offers team building, training, catering, cocktails, cookery classes, pamper treatments, themed tea parties, butler in the buff & naked art classes, plus much more.

Low Malthouse comes with a sitting room, second kitchen and cocktail bar, whilst Upper Malt House has a dining table, great for enjoying a feast from Bordello Banquets. Excellent facilities included 60’’ TVs in the living areas, well-equipped kitchens, a sauna and a hot tub. Outside there is a walled garden to escape to.

Our gorgeous boutique bedrooms consist of:

Upper Stores, Chinese Room: Sleeps 3 - double bed, single bed, cot & en-suite bathroom
Upper Stores, Japanese Room: Sleeps 4 - double sleigh bed, single sleigh bed, sofa bed. Shared use of bette bathroom & family shower room.
Upper Stores, Four Poster Room: Sleeps 2 - four poster bed, plus en-suite WC and bath in the bedroom.
Upper Stores, White Room: Sleeps 3 - bunk beds, single bed. Shared use of bette bathroom & family shower room.
Upper Stores, Nell Nile Bunk Room: Sleeps 2 - bunk room which is a walk thru room, leading to the butterfly room. Shared use of bette bathroom & family shower room.
Malt House, Rinky Dink Pink: Sleeps 2 (+1) - bunk bed with double on bottom – only let for 2. Shared use of spa space showers and WC next door.
Malt House, Sunshine Yellow: Sleeps 2 (+1) - bunk bed with double on bottom – only let for 2. Shared use of spa space showers and WC next door.
Malt House, Arts and Crafts: Sleeps 2 - double bed and en-suite shower room.
Malt House, Doves and Swans: Sleeps 2 (+1) - bunk bed with double on bottom – let for 2, unless children sharing. Use of family bathroom next door.
Lower Stores, Woodland Room: Sleeps 4 - king-sized sofa bed and double sleigh bed, share black & white bathroom. Our private part of the house - occasionally let out.
Lower Stores, Blue Room: Sleeps 2 - twin room, plus use of wet room or black and white bathroom. Our private part of the house - occasionally let out.
Jovial Colliers, Rose Double: Sleeps 2 - double bed, plus use of deco bathroom. Our private part of the house - occasionally let out.
Jovial Colliers, Garden Bunk: Sleeps 2 - bunk room, plus use of art deco, black and white bathroom.
Jovial Colliers: black and white bathroom.

We are in a brilliant location for exploring the local, offering something for everyone. Enjoy a scenic day at Wigpool Nature Reserve, ideal for outdoor lovers. Play a round at Thornbury Golf Centre or have lots of fun at Chessgrove Shooting. Superb attractions to visit in Gloucestershire whilst staying with us include:
