Cider Barrel Cottage offers delightful self catering accommodation down a quiet country lane midway between Rodney Stoke and Draycott. We are surrounded by fields and on the edge of the Somerset Levels, nestled in the centre of the Mendip Hills, an Area of Outstanding Beauty. Our former farm building is within easy driving distance of Cheddar, Burnham , Wells, Glastonbury and Weston-Super-Mare, making us the perfect base for exploring Somerset.
Accommodation
Our ground-level cottage is based in a countryside setting, including access to a four-acre apple orchard. The property sleeps up to 4 people and offers a blend of traditional features with modern facilities.We have a living room with seating, a TV and a DVD player, offering a great spot to relax after a day sightseeing. You can also unwind in the sunny conservatory that comes with chairs and garden views. The well-equipped kitchen/diner comes with a variety of appliances: a dishwasher and washer/dryer, plus crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. A solid wood table seats 4.
Two bedrooms are available. The master room has a king-size bed, and the twin room has 2 single beds. Both rooms share a family bathroom with a power shower over the bath, WC and a handbasin. All bed linen and towels are included. Cot and high chair are provided.
Outside we have picturesque 3/4 acre garden to enjoy. A table with bench seating and a parasol on the terrace is perfect for al fresco dining whilst enjoying the setting.
Visting Rodney Stoke & Exploring Somerset
We are within walking distance of the Rodney Stoke Reserve and the western border of the Mendips, ideal for cyclists and walkers. Head to Cheddar and see the famous Cheddar Gorge. The west end is near the Bristol Channel by Crook Peake.You can visit Glastonbury and Wells, and within an hour’s drive are the cities of Bristol (SS Great Britain) and Bath. Lots of National Trust houses and gardens are in the area. Bird watchers can visit the local RSPB and the National Nature Reserve sites around Westhay. Attractions to visit include:
Longleat House and Safari Park.
Wookey Hole.
Glastonbury Tor.
Haynes Motor Museum.
Fleet Air Arm Museum.
