Billy's Bothy

In the centre of the scenic Derbyshire Dales and edging the magnificent Peak District National Park you will find Billy’s Bothy. a beautiful historic Derbyshire, luxury self-catering cottage that is located amidst a quiet and peaceful pastureland setting. Surrounded by the beautiful gardens of historic Grade II listed Offcote Grange, just over 1 mile from the pretty Market town of Ashbourne. There are outstanding views over the Henmoor Valley and our small nature lake where cattle, sheep , our chickens and our cheeky donkeys graze peacefully on pastureland surrounding the gardens. The perfect place to relax and unwind or to have your special celebration with friends and family.

Many attractions and activities are close by to keep your entertained and it’s a great area for walking and cycling.

This delightful Derbyshire cottage is built of ancient red bricks and an abundance of beams and revealed brick walls throughout, with a mix if stone, oak and tiled floors, it is full of character and charm. The downstairs windows are a pretty feature with elegantly curved arches over old preserved sty openings.

It is of note that this lovely Peak District, character cottage is an ‘upside down house’, in that it cuts into the bank, giving ‘ground floor access’ and bedrooms on both ground and 1st floor levels.

The ground floor and main entrance is accessed by a massive feature oak door from which a bespoke oak staircase leads into the galleried kitchen. There are two double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom with a cot and 2 single sofa beds on the ground floor. (Bedrooms 1.2 and 3). On this floor there is also an optional annex bedroom (bedroom 6) which is another twin with a 3rd single sofa bed. All bedrooms are ensuite.

The first floor has two upstairs double bedrooms (bedrooms 4 and 5), one with a fourth single sofa bed and a cot, both of which are ensuite. Giving a full capacity of up to 16 guests.

Also on the first floor is the galleried kitchen which overlooks the entrance hall, it is built of bespoke, handmade pine units with tiled floor and granite tops with a French Belfast sink. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with everything you will need – and more for your stay.

Next to the kitchen is a comfortable dining room seating from 14 to 16, and providing you will all you will need for a wonderful dining experience. You may choose to cook or hire a catering company for something special, there are also many restaurants and takeaways close by.
Next to the dining room is a large comfortably furnished lounge with wood stove and large flat screen smart TV and DVD, which opens out on to the patio area which has lovely cast patio furniture for 16, a BBQ and fire pit. The hot tub is also off this patio and may be hired by arrangement. There are extensive flower filled gardens, orchards and lawned areas that you are free to enjoy. Plant lovers may wish to explore our walled gardens- please ask to arrange.
This delightful holiday cottage is fully centrally heated throughout with a cosy log burning stove for your added comfort. Giving warmth and a cosy ambience all year round. All heating, electricity, linen, towels and complimentary Wi-Fi are included. There is lots of private off- road car parking for all guests

There is a sauna and hot tub on site which can be available for hire by arrangement only. Pampering can also be arranged.

Children are most welcome, there are 2 high chairs and 2 cots, a baby bath changing mat and potty provided.

Rates: From £2280 to £3705 per week depending on season and if optional 6th bedroom is required. (weekend, mid week & short breaks available). Maximum of 14 to 16 people.

We do offer small corporate accommodation for businesses with Wi-Fi, projector and whiteboard facilities – up to 6 bedrooms.
